Kartarpur Corridor Design details and infrastructural specifications are withheld for security concerns, but here are the key elements in a broader perspective.
The main corridor is in the Pakistan side of the international border, connected to the Indian side across the Indian border. The whole 4 kilometer passage will be monitored with cctv installed in such a way that every inch of the passage is covered.
Several security posts will be on the way managed by the Pakistan army and Narowal district police. The road will facilitate light and medium vehicles as well as have a footpath for pilgrims who wish to take a walking journey.
The indian side of the corridor starts from Dera Baba Nanak to the international border, a 2 kilometer stretch to be managed by the Indian army and punjab police. The starting point will have a security check post and cctv cameras as well as explosive and metal detectors.
Pilgrims will have to pass through two security posts in the international border, one in the Indian side and the other in the Pakistan side. They will have to take around a hundred kilometers walk in between the two posts.
