Four kilometer passage in Pakistan side from Gurdwara Darbar Sahib to the international border to India has started and is expected to be completed within the next six months. The 85 feet wide road falls in the way of water bodies and two bridges also need to be constructed.
Kartarpur Corridor Complex is expected to accommodate various offices including that of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) to facilitate devotees crossing from the Indian side.
Media reports from Pakistan indicate that the Kartarpur Corridor will be open from 9 AM in the morning till 5 PM in the evening and the Pakistan government may impose a daily limit of five hundred devotees per day to cross the border.
Despite Pakistan government allowing a visa free entry, it is anticipated that the Pakistan government may introduce a fee for the devotees. The Indian side is expected to have a immigration counter to record and monitor the visit of the devotees.
